Hi, love this! Would love to have it so that when you select a mood it automatically assigns a mood icon. It’s kinda confusing that you have to select a mood and then a smiley, some members will not know that they have to select both. It should be a one click deal, select mood and then it shows the mood icon that is assigned to that mood, write your status and post it.

I know that it may be hard to have an icon for every mood but I think this approach is much more user friendly.

Boy, your plugin is fantastic. I only have 2 problems whit it: when I activate the plugin no longer functions in the insertion of ajax updates. this performs the refresh of the page. And when post a reply in the buddypress activity page, this not appear and come out an error.

    Thanks for your share!!!!

and ajax update is a templete feature and templete dont send mymood field Parameters on ajax post so thats why I’ve disabled the ajax update.

Thanks for your reply. I understand about ajax, but for the comments? why appear “there’s a problem” and comment do not post? maybe i have a conflict with other plugins, perhaps problem with user role? In your php:
    if($_POST[“bp-mymood-validate”] != “1”) {
    echo ‘<div id="message" class="error"

Is for check that the user have write something in the box? if i have other plugin that do the same thing, is possible a conflict? Thanks again and…good work!

It´s a very nice plugin. But…. where are the words saved? I can´t find it anywhere…and..why can´t I sort the words? because, if I want to ad a word or like in an foreign language like german…it´s very complicated. for now I only want to know where are the words saved?

    • Ayush Singh says:
      May 10, 2012 at 4:07 pm

Go at Wp-admin > Settings > BUddyPress MyMood There you will find it.

      • Vau3 says:
        May 10, 2012 at 4:25 pm

        Are you kidding me?
Yes…there I can see and ad the words. And in the database the words are stored in the wp-options, right?
It would very nice, if there´s an option to sort the words. That´s all.
How can i solve this issue now easily?

        • Ayush Singh says:
          May 10, 2012 at 6:35 pm

They are stored in wp_options option name is “bp_mymood_moods”, variable type is array(). i will add sort feature in next version.

I LOVE this plugin. I did a bit of editing to make it that my member just picks a word due to the confusion of not knowing they have to pick a word and a face to go with it and it is working beautifully, however, it seems to be affecting “Using activity as wire in Buddypress 1.2 themes” which i have setup ( (yes I still am using buddypress 1.2 theme) Basically when I have mymoods active, I can no longer post on someone’s page as I was able to do after using the fix I have linked above. i’m sure this is some coding issue that can be easily fixed, I just don’t know what needs to be fixed. If you need more details please let me know!!

  12. Freddy says:
    May 13, 2012 at 10:09 am

Sorry, but until you fix it so picking a mood also selects a smiley, this plugin is basically useless. There is no way for a user to know, and the “smiley not found” error makes it look like it’s the fault of the site admin. It makes it seem like the admin didn’t test it and installed a plugin without the required smileys.

It’s a great concept, so I’ll just deactivate it, and hope you fix this in an update someday.

    Thanks anyway.

    Mood: Disappointed :(

  15. Xan says:
    May 14, 2012 at 9:53 pm

I’m not sure if this is a bug or my theme. But if someone sets their status to, for example, happy, it will update their profile page to say ‘Mood: Happy’. But when they post a new status update that icon will be removed from their profile page, even if they didn’t post a new mood.

    • Ayush Singh says:
      May 14, 2012 at 10:01 pm

Xan this is not a bug. when user post a new status and dont select his mood then mood will be vanish from profile page because profile page show the latest status mood of member.

    July 4, 2012 at 8:59 am

your plugin is great but it conflicts with another plugin called Buddypress Activity plus. Is it possible to fix this? I would love to add it to my site! Thanks!

  21. Claudio says:
    July 4, 2012 at 9:36 am

if I activate mymood plugin together with activity plus, then activity plus stops working. That plugin is for posting pics, links and videos attached to your post so it’s really useful and I can’t do without it.
It’s strange ’cause if I deactivate your mymood plugin, then activity plus works flawlessly, that’s why I think they are in conflict…
Do you think this can be fixed somehow?
I really love your plugin and I’d really love to use it!

I am not sure if this plugin is intended to work only with the bp-default theme but it kills the ajax post activity update when using WP 3.2.1 BP 1.5.1 and The BuddyPress Corporate theme by WPMU Dev. It will still post but it makes the page reload instead of using ajax post update on the activity. I hope this bug can be ironed out because I think its an awesome plugin and would love to implement it on my site. Thanks!

I have noticed that if you try to choose the crying icon on the bottom row of the smiley faces that it errors out everytime. All the other emotion icons appear to work except that one.

I upgraded to the version 1.7 to see if it fixed it and it did not, as a matter of fact upgrade 1.7 appeared to make the whole page reload on the thread (only when choosing the erroring icon though) so I reverted back to the previous version.

I am using wp version 3.5.1 and bp version 1.6.3 . Thanks for any help on this.
